NDL Great East Japan Earthquake Archive (HINAGIKU) is the portal site for centralized searching and utilization of digital data related to the Great East Japan Earthquake.

A project of Harvard University’s Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, the Japan Disasters Digital Archive (JDA) is an evolving, collaborative space for citizens, researchers, students, and policy makers, and a site of shared memory for those most directly affected by these events.


Japan Disasters Archive

A digital archive stores and makes available materials related to the activities of the Red Cross which responded to nuclear disasters, mainly including the activities of the Japanese Red Cross Society toward the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. The site was closed on March 2021. The data which was taken over by HINAGIKU is available to be searched.



The Nuclear Regulation Authority archives materials related to the accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Among the materials already made public and owned by the former Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency and other institutions, materials which were published approximately one year after the Great East Japan Earthquake are included. The data recorded in HINAGIKU is available to be searched.
